Society for Technical Communication UNC Charlotte Student Chapter

STC is a worldwide professional association for technical communicators that grew out of two organizations founded in 1953. Today, its 25,000 members belong to 150 chapters that provide peer networking, continuing education opportunities, and local/national job databases. The purpose of the society is to promote the advancement of knowledge in the field of technical communication and to offer its members a chance for recognition of their work.

Student membership in the UNC Charlotte STC Chapter offers an opportunity to remain up-to-date on news and events in the field of technical communication through the organization’s monthly and quarterly publications. It also offers students the chance to get involved in events and competitions on both a national and local level. Networking with others who are pursuing training in technical communication, as well as those who already work as technical communicators, is a great way to learn about this dynamic field.
